The Conservancy is nestled between an arid landscape to the north and ancient indigenous forests to the south. mission

Their mission, in partnership with their neighbouring communities is to provide a sustainable ecosystem for critically endangered species, including black and white rhino, elephant, lion, cheetah, reticulated giraffe and Grevy's zebra.  Their holistic approach commits tourism, livestock and other commercial enterprises to building local livelihoods and enhance ecosystem integrity.  Borana has assisted the funding, development, marketing and management of community-owned conservation initiatives like and works collaboratively with the Kenya Wildlife Service to ensure that their neighbours are not adversely affected by human-wildlife conflict.
